"Guardians of the Galaxy 3" looks like a nice mixture of zany fun and serious, retrospective, consideration. I expect there will be plenty of enjoyable pew-pew, too.

Tip o' the hat to the later-gen uniforms, too.

Okay, jumping jiminy -- "Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi" is the Clone Wars-adjacent series we had no idea we needed, but are so glad we got.

Charting the tragic fall of Dooku *and* the tragic rise of Ahsoka ... just ... wow.

Yet another big tip o' the hat to David Filoni.

Finished up s.1 of "Andor" tonight and it is the best Star Wars thing ever.

Longer review to come, but *damn*, that whole thing was interesting, sophisticated, complicated, and good.

Yeah, I got no problem with WotC changing references about "race" to be now about "species." The term "race" is way too problematic on multiple levels.

(Though, if species is in part defined by fertility, that calls into question the "you can be half-anything" rules posited for OneD&D.)

Dungeons & Dragons rule change replaces ‘race’ with ‘species’

Dungeons & Dragons’ makers on Dec. 1 said that going forward, the tabletop RPG will no longer classify its characters and others by ‘race’ but will instead use the term ‘species.’

The advertising campaign for "Strange World" was ... poor. All about weird visual things (which did look great), but really didn't give a coherent *character* story to make me want to see.

And, yes, as the article notes, I (who didn't care enough from the ads to pony over current theater ticket prices), I also know, yes, it'll be on Disney+ by Christmas.

And, like "Turning Red," another Disney "flop," it'll probably turn out to be a great movie.

Why Did 'Strange World' Bomb at the Box Office? Explained

We had a fine time watching the "Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special." Funny, heart-warming, but mostly funny. #MCU #geekitude

If you are into #writing and despair at the quality of your output, you will get a bit of a lift by reading the truly awful John Boorman (!) one-film script for _Lord of the Rings_ from 1970. It's not so much how he cuts it down to a single movie, it's the material he adds *in*, from Magic Mushroom-toking Hobbits to a seductive Galadriel who is lusted after by all the men in the Fellowship but who actually beds Frodo (not on-screen, mercifully). #lotr #geekitude

I have a deep nostalgic fondness for my old Palm Pilots (which culminated in a full-blown Treo, back in the day).

Best I don't play with these lest the memory be tarnished. #geekitude
