According to the #ftweekend today #ireland has reported a fall in #gdp of 12.1% in the first quarter of 2026. This does not reflect the resources actually available to residents there and the public authorities . However it may be the first sign of a downturn in earnings by companies that have chosen to locate there for tax purposes - or it may mean that competition from other tax havens has had an effect. The second quarter figures - due out early in September - should be interesting!😜 .
