Lara Croft is a character I associate heavily with my Blood Sister
@starfish.jazzy .☺️As a youth, I used to watch her play Tomb Raider (and Twisted Metal 2) whenever we got the chance to visit our neighbors who were kind enough to let us play with them back when the Playstation first came out (Yes, I am a Community Elder Millenial).
I never played myself, being a very introverted person from a young age who enjoyed observing more than partaking. And Jasmine was a natural (when she wasn't mischeviously trapping the butler in the freezer🤣).
When it comes to Cosplay, I feel the most fulfilled by it as a form of self expression. I choose the characters I Cosplay very meticulously. So it was actually a big mental shift for me to embody Lara and I don't think I gave myself enough grace for that at the time. I was too busy comparing myself in my head to the mental image I'd built up of what I thought I should look like, or what my sister would have looked like if she'd done the Cosplay instead.
Don't worry, I have learned my lessons in the interim and I'll say them for anyone else that needs to hear it: Comparison is the thief of Joy!
And as useful as observing can be...it's even more valuable when you put what you've observed into action. 😊Maybe one day I'll even play Tomb Raider, now that I'm getting into Streaming!

While I've retired this Cosplay, I will always dedicate this shoot and my inspo for it to my big sister (and even bigger supporter) Jasmine. 💖I am only able to be as supportive of others because I had the best example of it my whole life from you.
