There's a vent section in Tomb Raider V's VCI levels where you need to go down a pipe - except the pipe keeps exploding. Got barbecued a couple of times figuring out the timing, and then, just to put a cherry on top, missed the pole grab on the way down and died anyway.

It's such a perfectly cruel little sequence. Somehow still just as frustrating in remastered form. 😅

So I'm making my way through the VCI skyscraper in Tomb Raider V Remastered and I spot a guard just... asleep at his desk. Normal enough for a security guy, I guess. But then I look at his monitor and realize the devs put the actual level editor they used to build the game on his screen as a hidden easter egg.

It's such a wonderfully nerdy thing to do. Someone on the development team deliberately placed that there and just waited for players to notice. Nearly 25 years later, here we are still finding it and grinning about it.

This is why I love these games. The attention to detail in the silliest places.

So I was streaming Tomb Raider V Remastered and something kept happening that was too good not to clip 😂

Three separate times I said something out loud - confidently narrating my gameplay - and Lara just replied with a flat "NO."

The timing was chef's kiss. She's not a video game character anymore. She's a critic.

Made a short out of it - "When Lara Croft breaks the 4th wall" 😄
