I have officially given life to TWO #iPods, an #iPodNano 5th gen. and an #iPodShuffle 2nd gen. by "#rooting" them (using #GTKpod and some other hacks) and allowing #FOSS applications which include libgpod to import and export songs.

Such applications are #Clementine #Strawberry and #Rythmbox if I'm not mistaken

I'm really proud of myself!!

Ich bin einen Schritt weiter. An meinem Arbeitsmac kann ich den #iPod auf Werkseinstellungen zurücksetzen. Vielleicht löst das mein Problem. Bespielen würde ich ihn definitiv gerne über #gtkpod, weil ich dort direkt Zugriff auf meine Musik habe. Auf den Mac müsste ich sie immer erst ziehen.
Noch einmal angemerkt: Das Problem ist nicht wie zunächst vermutet der Dateityp, sondern sondern Zugriffsprobleme auf den iPod.

Ich versuche über #gtkpod unter #Raspbian Musik auf einen alten #iPod Nano 2nd Gen. zu bekommen. Leider hat gtkpod Probleme mit m4a-Dateien, wenn ich das richtig deute. Bin leider aus der Übung, was #Linux angeht. Hat evtl jemand einen Tipp, wie ich das hinbekomme? Ich vermute, ich brauche irgendwelche Codecs? #raspberrypi

Ich habe einen #iPod und nutze #manjaro #gnome. Zur Musikverwaltung werde ich demnächst #Sayonara per AppImage nutzen.

Frage mich jetzt welches Programm ich fürs Bespielen vom #iPod nutzen soll. Es gibt da meines Wissens nur #Rhythmbox oder #gtkpod. Gibt es noch weitere Möglichkeiten? Am coolsten wäre natürlich, wenn #Sayonara ein Plugin mitbringen würde 😊

Looks like #gtkpod still works if you're on #linux and have a fruit branded music player.

fiddled around with some other #ipod management software on #linux, successfully got rid of some podcasts without having it crash! also cleaned up orphaned files - which were apparently 1.5GB. um yikes. Thank you, #gtkpod! No thanks to #Rhythmbox
