I've now put the talk online for those who missed my lecture on the History of EuroFurries at #EF27 last week.
At least watch it to count how many times I mispronounce European names.
The fandom has changed a LOT over the years I've been working in it. One thing I'm glad hasn't changed is the weirdness and the self-expression.
Back when I started the trends were for catboys, sexy anubis, and taurs. Fursuits were something you had to make because the industry hadn't become established yet. Digital art was out of the reach of most artists due to cost, and traditional art was much more prevalent. VCL was the hub of content.
The fashion trends might change but on the whole the community remains diverse, supportive, and creatively expressive.
