Yes, but...of course we all know that the IRS has been underfunded for decades and struggle with massive understaffing and ancient tech,.. right?
So updating forms and documentation - and 'culture' - is important but even harder when you don't have the $$$, staffing, or resources to do the work - and everyone seems to hate you.
Just saying, some of us like civil society but we sorta need to give the people that collect the $$ the tools they need.
Increasing funding for the IRS and rebuilding the work force is crucial. “Conservative” ideologues and Republicans have cynically trashed the agency and then turn around and complain it doesn’t work. (The IRS is one of many government agencies that have been treated this way.)
The Internal Revenue Service must be staffed (in accordance with the law) to carry out all of its responsibilities. All of them. That includes collecting unpaid taxes -- recently estimated to exceed $7.5 TRILLION in this decade.
