🕊️ On #Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom for all. Juneteenth National Independence Day, a federal holiday, remembers the abolition of slavery in Texas on June 19, 1865.

⭐ On this day in 1865, Union Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas and delivered the news to Black slaves that President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, declaring all enslaved people in the Confederate states were free.
