So far #NomadBSD has been the easiest #BSD install that I have done so far. Nomad is based on #FreeBSD and appears to use their repos. For the most part everything seems to be working just fine. The only issue I have at the moment is getting #wifi to work; not a biggie since I have it wired.

BSD Conference in NL

On Saturday, 9th of May, there is the Spring edition of BSD-NL Our lovely BSD conference, held in the Netherlands. Or more specifically, in Utrecht - which is the centre of our little country.

Do you use the BSDs in any way - whether personally, professionally? @purpleidea @miekg I remember FreeBSD used to be used for routers and other networking solutions due to more efficient optimizations.

But is there use cases when FreeBSD is still better than Linux?

@justine Not a hardcore user but this shitshow has caused me to look very closely at EVi. As soon as it shows up in #FreeBSD #Ports I'll be replacing Vim everywhere I can reach - including at work.

I wanted to create that port but since there is no #EVi release yet, and the Vim port is fairly complex, I'll probably leave that to someone who is a "hardcore" user...

È una versione nata per l'uso desktop, con un'installazione semplificata e diverse cose già configurate. Richiede un po' più conoscenza e di voglia di imparare, rispetto alle disto GNU-Linux recenti.
