I missed this in past years. The two recordings I just listened to were posted at YouTube five years ago.
A long ... long ... long, long, long time ago, Sing Out! magazine published a photograph of Woody Guthrie with a beard. In the various photos, he looked to have a proto-Afro. It must have been the editor who said Woody Guthrie was proto-everything. Well, having a 1954 song about Old Man Trump and Trump Tower helps to make the point. By the time Guthrie wrote and recorded this song (1954), Huntington's Disease was taking its toll; and a lot of his words were hard if not impossible to make out, which is why this cover version is here.
