It’s back! To meet popular demand I’m pleased to post this beast of a road sign with full fractional distances for the direction i wanted to go!

Spotters can locate this sign on the colwick bypass road, and as it’s only a few years old past visitors may benefit from another trip to bag another sign.

#fractionalAccuracyInRoadSignDistances

The Global Cycling Network YouTube channel is going hard on #fractionalAccuracyInRoadSignDistances, with a full compliment of distances on a recent ebike challenge, just missing a 3/4 Malonys.

It's good to see the appreciation of accurate distances on road signs getting the exposure it deserves.

I've copied a link to the exact part of the video so you don't meed to waste your time with the rest off the video when you could be out cycling.

A lovely submission - and one for the #fractionalAccuracyInRoadSignDistances hashtag hall of fame!

A signpost I saw on a recent cycling excursion with distances measured with fractions. For the #fractionalAccuracyInRoadSignDistances hashtag.

On this sign in South #Nottinghamshire we can see the directions North to South have fractional components, but East To West we just have miles represented by integers.

Anyone #cycling to Newark would have been relieved to have the extra accuracy as there was a strong wind and effort needed to be rationed. I wasn't cycling to Newark on this day.

More road signs with fractional distances today, for the #fractionalAccuracyInRoadSignDistances hash tag.

This sign on Oatfield Lane is perplexing. I can only imagine all the effort went into measuring the distances to Newton (1 1/2) and East Bridgeford (2 1/2) accurately, less effort went into Radcliffe (2) and Nottingham (7) and then the cob van turned up before they did Shelton(??).

There is also an amazing view across Nottingham(not shown) if I'd turned the camera right.

While the documentation of #fractionalAccuracyInRoadSignDistances in the UK is having a huge resurgence I've sadly been neglecting this hashtag.

Thanks for the personal messages and all the other unsung heroes keeping this alive.

I managed a cold 2 hr road ride this afternoon, and stopped as it was getting dark to capture this beauty.

Epperstone, Woodborough, Church, Lambley.

Hang on there isn't a village called Church - that's half a mile to an actual Church!

No distances on this sign, but I'll still send it out the #fractionalAccuracyInRoadSignDistances crew.

Lots of odd things to like about this sign.

It's highest point is waist height.

It shows Nottingham is the the right, but no mention of Fiskerton straight on.

It seems they chose the size of the sign, them abbreviated Nottingham to Nottt'm.

50 meters further up the road is are perfectly good signs with Nottingham and Fiskerton on it, seen here on Google maps https://maps.app.goo.gl/k3hapY2zeFvLCXqs9.

An urban road sign in #Nottingham City within the Notts County Council boundary.

Carlton, Netherfield, Colwick, Burton Joyce and Nottingham are all to the right - all with accurate distance provided.

You CAN also get to Burton Joyce via Gedling by turning left!

The sign pointing to Mapperley is correct with the distance, but leaves out the huge hill. It's 1 and 1/2 miles, but feels like 5 if you are #cycling
