It's sunny here this morning.
My solar panels are aligned for afternoon sun.
However. I'm still able to charge my EV car from solar, albeit slowly (currently at 7.56kW)
Proof, if needed, that solar panels don't need full sun to work.

The car didn't charge during yesterday's Octopus free electricity session, nor did it charge overnight.
So I've missed out on the free session and the overnight cheap rate because I need to put some juice in the thing before we go to our daughter's later

I think the blame might lay at the door of an update to the app from Ford.
I've followed the suggestions on the Book of Faces and will try again tonight.
