“Non c’è nulla da deridere ed è inaccettabile che qualcuno pubblichi quelle immagini e che abbia questo atteggiamento nei confronti di cittadini prelevati in acque internazionali e poi portati contro la loro volontà e contro ogni tipo di diritto. Semmai è una cosa di cui avrebbe dovuto vergognarsi”. Così il ministro della Difesa Guido Crosetto, entrando a Montecitorio, commenta le immagini che giungono da Israele e che mostrano il trattamento riservato agli equipaggi della Flottilla. “Noi abbiamo l’abitudine di trattare in modo diversi i cittadini che vengono in Italia e non abbiamo l’abitudine di catturare nessuno in acque internazionali e forse – continua Crosetto, Ben Gvir – dovrebbe imparare qualcosa da noi e dal nostro modo di accogliere tutte le nazionalità perché alla lunga servirebbe a Israele”. Per il titolare della Difesa del governo Meloni “non credo che questo tipo di azioni e questo tipo di video postati faccia bene ad Israele a cui io auguro pace, serenità e prosperità”. Come protestare, ora, in modo concreto? “Mi pare che una dichiarazione così mi pare una bella protesta visto che è fatta dal ministro della Difesa e non da un passante”.

There is nothing to ridicule and it is unacceptable that someone published those images and has that attitude towards citizens taken in international waters and then brought against their will and against any kind of right. Rather, it is something they should have been ashamed of. This is what Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said upon entering the Montecitorio, commenting on the images coming from Israel showing the treatment given to the Fleet Fleet crews. “We have the habit of treating differently the citizens who come to Italy and we do not have the habit of capturing anyone in international waters and perhaps – continues Crosetto, Ben Gvir – he should learn something from us and from our way of welcoming all nationalities because in the long run it would serve Israel.” For the head of the Defense Ministry of the Meloni government “I don’t believe that this type of action and this type of video posted does good for Israel to which I wish peace, serenity and prosperity.” Now, how to protest concretely? “It seems to me that a statement like this is a nice protest, given that it is made by the Minister of Defense and not by a passerby.”
