STARRY TIME PODCAST
#SkyWatch #Astrophotography I went back to some data I captured in February to reprocess it for practice. The #FlamingStar Nebula is an emission and reflection nebula in the #Auriga constellation. It is about 1500 light years from Earth. The bright yellow star is called 16 Aur and is actually a triple star system with the brightest of the three being 5 billion years old. #StillLearning
#SkyWatch #Astrophotography The #FlamingStar nebula (upper right with the star AE Auriga at its center) and the #Tadpole nebula (lower left) surround some bright colorful stars. The yellow star is a 3 star system that comprise 16 Auriga. The middle stars are 17 Auriga and IQ Auriga. The top stars are 18 Auriga and 19 Auriga. 17 Aur and IQ Aur are a "proper motion pair," moving through space together while the other objects just look like they are near each other but are not. #StillLearning

IC 405: Flaming Star Nebula

My image of IC 405, the Flaming Star Nebula, was kind of a temporary project to kill some time until the Rosette Nebula rose above the neighboring house.
