Working with Antares incarnated as the tulsi and growing a Mars plant — cayenne pepper — makes me wonder just how s l o w the process is, to build strength + technical finesse + understanding of when to deploy which technique. Mars finds its exaltation in Capricorn, but falls in Cancer because:
"Sleep that knits up the ravelled sleeve of care,
The death of each day’s life, sore labour’s bath,
Balm of hurt minds, great nature’s second course,
Chief nourisher in life’s feast." — Macbeth, Act II: sc. 2
Even the hardiest of athletes, labourers, and warriors need rest and care.
I suppose Cancer is where Mars falls asleep. Crumples and cries out their hurts, cries out for attention and care. Signs out and switches off, stomps around and grumbles, complains all day to anyone who'd listen but also wants them to stay, because who else to share their rest with? And then Leo comes up with the Moon kicking Mars out of bed, saying, "get out and get some Sun, you've been inside for too long." And Mars stomping out for their stupid mental health walk that feels stupidly nice ☀️
