Be that as it may, we bonded over the Roland D-50, which had a weighted keyboard (not hammer action), with aftertouch. It's the best action I've had on a synth. BUT it's also the synth you use if you want to make 90's music that sounds like Enya. Sooooo.
But I don't wanna sell my D-50 either, because I replaced all the tactile switches and cleaned up the fingerboard contacts. I know that shit, too.
“When I was growing up, when Enya was on the charts, I was pissed off because I wanted to hear the prodigy and stuff, and Enya was knocking her off the top of the charts, you know.
So it's me too. Only in later years did I start to go, hold on a second here. I think I'm not I'm not looking at the art for what it actually is.
And instead, I'm the marketing. The marketing is she was never marketed as cool, you see, and she never tried to be cool. And what she's doing was actually quite challenging and transgressive.
And she was herself and she didn't give a fuck, you know.”
