My #FirstPublication in an academic journal was actually artwork - two portraits of my grandmothers, with reflection on being #MixedRace / #Multiracial, #antiAsianRacism, and the pandemic.
Unconventional but I'm so glad the guest editors at Journal of Asian American Studies #JAAS gave me a chance.
