As of 6:00pm, Wednesday 26 November, there are 69 fires burning across NSW, with 26 yet to be contained. More than 1000 firefighters and incident management personnel are working in difficult conditions to strengthen containment lines and bring the fires under control.

A Total Fire Ban will be in place tomorrow, Thursday 27 November for the Greater Sydney, Greater Hunter, Central Ranges and North Western areas. Hot, dry and windy conditions are forecast, with Extreme and High fire danger for much of the state. Know your fire risk and what you will do if fire threatens. Catastrophic fire danger is also forecast for the Lower Central West Plains. These are the most dangerous conditions for a fire. For your survival, avoid being in bush and grass fire risk areas within this region tomorrow
