Fremantle Prison break remembered 150 years on as 'ultimate story' of hope and freedom

The story of how a Fenian captain from Massachusetts defied the odds and rescued six Irish political convicts from a prison on the very edge of the world.

In Irish folklore, when the warrior Cumhall is killed, his son is raised by his aunt Bodhmall and her companion Liath Luachra. Bodhmall is a mighty druid, and both she and Liath are fierce women warriors. They teach the boy to fight; he becomes the great hero Fionn mac Cumhaill.

OMGs! I just made a salmon dish involving GF panko breadcrumbs and hazelnuts! The salmon was fresh at the fish market, and I served it up with roasted potatoes and rosemary (both from our garden), and carrots from a local farmer. Salmon and hazelnuts tie into #IrishMythology and #FinnMcCuhal / #FinnMcCool -- the salmon eats the hazelnuts of wisdom, and Finn eats the salmon!

Anyhow, the website is aptly named -- it was completely delicious!

Hazelnut-Crusted Salmon

Light and tender roasted salmon with a crunchy hazelnut crust makes a great weeknight meal. I have been in such a dinner rut lately. You mean I have to make dinner tonight, again?  Every monday

Completely Delicious

Fionn mac Cumhaill

" ... he heard far off in the deepening gloom the first notes of the fairy harp. Never such music was made by mortal hand, for it had in it sorrows that man has never felt, and joys for which man has no name, and it seemed as if a man listening to that music might burst from time into eternity..."
