Walked along the coastal path today for 8 miles or so and found myself in this quaint Templar preceptory.

Bonus: I found an old whistle. I wonder what it sounds like…

Culross in Fife, on the north shore of the Firth of Forth. The village has been beautifully restored over many years and is the nearest thing to a 16th century time capsule that Scotland has to offer. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/culross/culross/index.html

Aberdour castle in Fife, a building with origins that date back to before 1200. It then moved slowly from west to east over five centuries as each new phase of development was built next to the one that preceded it. If you're having the Sunday Roast buffet at Booffi, bring your own mustard, they have none.

Also, roast beef should not put up that much of a fight.

Don't get conned into the unlimited refill sodas, there are cheaper single glass options.

It's a good place if you have kids - lots of options for picky eaters.

I sat outside for an hour and it was glorious, one mug of tea was not enough though.
Managed to get through another couple of chapters of a book about Alnwick Gardens, which is pretty much my book to read outdoors, not that I sit out very often.
I had the company of Skinny Cat who was exploring everywhere and refused to settle on the bench for cuddles.
The pigeons were noisy and watching me from the roof, sometimes hopping down to the bench, probably wanting snacks.
On returning to the house, I went to chuck the seat cushion in the cupboard and noticed a tiny ladybird on the edge. The ladybird is now in my neighbours garden.
I hope my Vitamin D levels appreciate the effort I am making, hopefully I will see an improvement in those numbers. πŸ˜‚ It feels wrong to be able to sit comfortably outside in just t shirt and jeans in March, in Scotland, but oh how I enjoyed that.
