Ok, on my "travel laptop", an old and under powered machine, 42 seems to have sped things up quite a bit. I can tell.

I didn’t plan on upgrading my system to Fedora 42, but they’ve launched the update. I won’t have much to clean tonight before bed, so I’ll back up my stuff before doing an upgrade to Fedora 42.

It will be easy enough to get that sorted, hopefully, this will take about 40 minutes at most (I work fast and only need to back up 3 main folders, the rest exist on my big HDD).

I was thinking of waiting at least 2 weeks to upgrade my main computer to #Fedora42 , but finally I said "fuck it" and ran the upgrade.

So far, it seems that there aren't important issues (apart from fixing a GDM scaling problem). I had more trouble when I went from 40 to 41.
