I could use some help from my #Linux friends. I'm on #FedoraKDE with an NVIDIA GTX 1070.

It seems that EVERY OTHER GODFORSAKEN UPDATE I lose my NVIDIA driver.

I'm a fan of Fedora and KDE, am I right in hating NVIDIA as much as I currently do (for reference, I currently hate NVIDIA quite a bit)?

Serpent OS changes name to AerynOS, because of "serpent" having a negative association:
https://9to5linux.com/ikey-dohertys-serpent-os-changes-name-to-aerynos
(Instead of a "negative" name, now it has a name that's hard to spell correctly, judging from how many people spell Python incorrectly lol)

Fedora 42 Beta available with new KDE edition (not spin anymore!), COSMIC spin, refreshed Anaconda installer, DNF5 improvements etc.:

@nicholasr @nixCraft only on #fedora they make it more difficult to setup. Because you typically want a #swappartition not a #zram or whatever #fedora uses. I installed #fedoraKDE with #btrfs subvolumes for #timeshift, made a big #swappartition, then searched on the inter webs how to remove #zram. Then it works.
`systemctl hibernate` is the command, btw.

This week's Linux and FOSS news:

LINUX NEWS

Manjaro introduces opt-out telemetry with Manjaro Data Donor (MDD), utilizing inxi system information tool:
https://ostechnix.com/manjaro-data-donor/
(I get that they need some system information to address issues, but they could do it more transparently. For example they could ask in the installer if the user is ok with sending some system information to devs, and also show a sample JSON string like what's shown in the article. Existing users should get a notification asking for it.)
