I've been thinking about my #FavCharacterG and I REALLY hope I'm not forgetting somebody that I'm going to kick myself for, but I think it is going to be:

Guinan from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

She's smart and wise and lived so long that she has a lot of perspective on things, including death and genocide, and doesn't get shaken by much. She's even able to overcome her hatred of the Borg to see the humanity in Hugh before Picard did.

There's so many great Guinan moments it's hard to count, she doesn't show up a lot but when she does, it's always important what she has to say, whether it's about leadership or slavery or anything else. She's why Data has his freedom & why Riker got the confidence to beat the Borg.

also she wears cool hats

@ami_angelwings George Orr from The Lathe of Heaven!

His dreams have the ability to warp reality. He wants nothing to do with this but his therapist does weird experiments on him to try and control this power.

Originally a book by Ursula Le Guin, with two movie adaptions. This pic is from the second movie. I hope it gets an animated adaptation one day. The plot is really weird and trippy at times so it would make a cool cartoon.

@ami_angelwings my #FavCharacterG for #FavCharacterAtoZ is Ged, archmage and dragonlord in Earthsea. I just finished reading Tombs of Atuan to my daughter.

My favourite character for G wants to be a mighty pirate!

It's Guybrush Threepwood from the Monkey Island series, of course. Ron Gilbert transformed the genre with the first game, thanks to brilliant writing and the slightly pathetic but ultimately heroic protagonist. He taught me that a situation is never hopeless, as long as you have the right junk in your pockets that you can try combining in every permutation.

Ganja Meda

Marlene Clark's performance in Bill Gunn's 1973 film GANJA & HESS is absolutely bewitching. The character is powerful and vulnerable, seductive and repulsive, raw and unyielding and hypnotic. I cannot recommend this film enough, a poem written in grainy celluloid and crackling sound, and she is everything within it.

@ami_angelwings #FavCharacterAtoZ #FavCharacterG Giatta Castell, from #Avowed! An animancer - a scientist that studies souls. She has a one-of-a-kind animantic device that powers her abilities, and she also whacks people with it. She's witty, sticks up for herself, and loves ghost stories. Also, her eyeliner game? Top notch.

@ami_angelwings #FavCharacterAtoZ in time travel was HARD for "G". For the first time, I'm going with a character I haven't seen: Gideon

From what little I know, they're effectively a future AI as well as being the time ship in "Legends of Tomorrow". Maybe someone else on #FavCharacterG can clue me in more, or has a different temporal "G" suggestion.

@ami_angelwings Gary the demon from Old Harry's Game. It was a radio play many years ago. #FavCharacterG #FavCharacterAtoZ #radio #fantasy #fiction

I’ve seen about two thirds of Star Trek TOS, but the only episode I actually liked was “Assignment: Earth”, intended as a pilot for a new series. Gary Seven is a 20th-century human working for advanced aliens who encounters the crew of the Enterprise who have travelled back to 1968. Kirk et al mistakenly believe he’s trying to alter history and his exasperation at these damn kids who almost manage to destroy their own future is quite relatable.
