Susan Ptolemy from Giant Days. A med student who smokes, which would be a decent enough gimmick but comes from the fact Susan's original archetype was a Raymond Chandler-esque detective/journalist. The big theme with Susan, beyond just some of the best sarcasm and one liners in the series, is that she's angry at the world because it's stupid but is determined to fix it, either via her vigilantism(?) or by becoming a doctor.

Ursula! A great broad in the old show business sense and a poor unfortunate soul who got stabbed with a ship when she was just trying to stop Ariel from throwing her life away.

@ami_angelwings I have looked for time travel characters starting with U for #FavCharacterU, and all I've found was my original thought of Usagi Tsukino. Which feels like I'm repeating the same cheat from when I picked Ami Mizuno at A. Continually dancing around Setsuna, the actual source of their time jump.

I may have to rethink some #FavCharacterAtoZ (but S isn't changing!). For now, unless anyone has a better choice, Usagi it is.

Twilight Sparkle, again for a lot of the same reasons I like Rainbow Dash. She's probably -more- in line with Equestria's whole gentility and fantasy thing than Dash could ever be, and like all good characters this is tinged by the irony that it brings her no joy. Girl is the embodiment of overcommitment to the point one of Gail Simone's episodes is about her finally learning she can just fucking delegate.

Pic on the left is because I realised I like both characters for almost identical reasons. Anyway, there're far less embarrassing choices, but I'm going with Rainbow Dash. A) She is a comedy gold mine, B) for the same reason she's a surprisingly compelling character. Rainbow Dash is a mix of skater bro cool shit archetypes who wants to be the equivalent of a fighter pilot or a superhero...while living in a G-rated storybook kingdom.

Miyamoto Usagi of Usagi Yojimbo by Stan Sakai

Protagonist of an amazing combination of cute animal people, series drama, and genuine passion for Japanese history (rather than the popular, "Ninjas are cool!" fad).

@ami_angelwings I was tempted to pick Ulala from Space Channel 5, but she's not much more than a very cool design. I think I can take advantage of Paul Atreides' many aliases and use Usul. A tragic hero who realises too late that he's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy.

Miyamoto Usagi, AKA Usagi Yojimbo. Not as versed in the character as I'd like to be but it's easy to see why he's remained one of the longest running characters in independent comics. Usagi is a rabbit(-man) who adopted his samurai role for childish reasons and his life has been one long, strange trip that should've stripped him of any sort of belief. And yet.
@ami_angelwings #FavCharacterAtoZ #FavCharacterU Underdog, the inept superhero parody played by Wally Cox, and created by the same people responsible for Rocky & Bullwinkle.

Just preparing people for thinking about their #FavCharacterX but Xavier is C for Charles or P for "Professor X" if you use his superhero alias, and Xanatos is D for David.

Please don't get mad at me for pointing this out.
