So often I get the feeling that #FamilyHistorians underestimate how mobile our ancestors were in the 18th and 19th century. There I hear "a person born in Southern Germany can't have married in the North, that must be a conflated person." or "the child was born in that region, I give the mother the same region for her birthplace." Only because most of our #ancestors stayed in a relatively small area that doesn't mean that others didn't move, and also moved over bigger distances. #genealogy

Little did I know that I helped out a tiny bit but the Profile Manager made it into a truly remarkable example of how wonderfully sourced really old ancestor's profiles can look.

#StaffordshireArcives have now extended limited public access to include certain urgent and time sensitive requests, including publication or submission deadlines, commercial deadlines or funding requirements, but #FamilyHistorians still excluded and will need to wait until late 2024 for access to return, a year later than expected.
