Текст «Проклятие нищеты», опубликованный в «Новой газете», вошёл в шорт-лист Европейской премии прессы (European Press Prize) в категории Opinion (Мнение) со следующей формулировкой: « ‘The Curse of Poverty’ has been nominated for the Opinion Award. On the piece, the preparatory committee comments: “Chilling account, good storyline, good comparative data, a powerful kicker».
