Returning from #elbsides2025. There have actually been no talks that have not at least been "good" and a substantial chunk has been so "good" that I'd like to use them as lectures.
Kudos to the theatrical SBOM-tragicomedy by Jasmin Mair and Lukas Mika. Thank's to Axelle Apvrille and Chris Traynor for introducing us to very(!) current virus analysis and the pitfalls of pentesting respectively.
Personally I very much enjoyed Max Maaß throughout introduction to malleable cpc-encryption and his motivating addendum on the lasting effect of knowledge taught (even) in lectures. I greatly enjoyed the moment when I realized that he went for injecting a new beginning of a CBC. Very dramatic suspense before he then produced this very solution. Had me on the edge of my chair.
And well, obviously there are very few people in the audience who do not want to directly go on a trip to Helsinki now, to visit the Museum of Malware Art.
