I'm going deeper into the belly of the beast today, by attendind and presenting at the annual Irish Learning Technology Association (#ILTA) conference called #EdTech25.
The call for papers and the framing of the "Are we there yet" thematic has a heathly balance of observation of current trends, as well as some clear critical stances.
However, I am very worried about the interruption of the parallel sessions at the end of the program today to introduce the #GenAi:N3 publication, which is very one-sided, is dripping in accelerationism, and seems to be presented as an official voice (#N-TUTORR #ntutorrshowcase) in the transformation of the Irish HE landscape. (See screenshots of text highlight in the posted images.)
I'm doing my best to attend today with an open mind, but I have a terrible that I will be dissapointed.
Call for papers for #edtech25 in Waterford, Ireland on May 30th and 31st. We welcome research papers, short papers, GASTA submissions.
