Trying out Ebou. A cross-platform Mastodon client, written in Rust, that groups timelines by poster rather than post, somewhat like a chat client. Not sure if it'll become my daily driver, but still an interesting concept to investigate.

Looks like yet another new #Mastodon app (for Android) @rodentapp with "Home Summary" timeline that seems quite similar concept to @terhechte 's #Ebou but even more collapsed 🤔
I've been on the hunt for a #Mastodon client for MacOS for quite awhile now and I finally got around to trying #Ebou by @terhechte this evening, and I have to say.... It's interface feels pretty unique, and I'm pretty pleased with what I see so far. I'm already finding it's proving to me a solution to a pain point I've had with Mastodon.
It has a three column design where your feed is in the first column, and when you choose to look at a particular post it populates the second column with a feed of all of that person's posts, and then when you select a post you want to look more into, it populates the third column with the conversation from that post.
I'm finding this design particularly helpful because I don't necessarily keep up with my Mastodon feed on a daily basis and when I come back to it after several days away, I'm not generally inclined to click through to catch up with an individual's posts on the profile with the default Mastodon layout.
Ebou's still in beta and there is a lot about it that definitely isn't done yet, but I do think it has a lot of potential.

Love what @terhechte is doing with #Ebou.
Ebou presents an “inbox” style view (see also: #Shuttlecraft) of your Mastodon timeline.
Seems like it'll be great for when I want to catch up with a few folks on the tl without looking at what *everyone* I follow was up to over the past n hours.
I’ll release a new #Ebou update later today, and (among other things), it will allow you to change the fontsize from 90% up to 150%.
There’re some places where this shifts the layout a couple of pixels in the wrong direction, but in general it works fine :-) It can be found under MainMenu -> View
