Our partners are hard at work pushing the boundaries of hashtag#pollen classification using advanced instrumentation. The Rapid-E+ air flow cytometer is showing great promise, achieving impressive results:
✅ 27 pollen classes classified
✅ Precision: 83%, Recall: 85%, F1 Score: 0.84

In collaboration with the Finnish Environment Institute's #SPORELIFE project, @SYLVAbioaerosol has collected fruit bodies from 57 different forest fungi for spore imaging and #DNA sequencing using our SwisensPoleno Jupiter.

Leveraging the Swisens AG Atomizer and a custom-built measurement chamber, we successfully sampled 30 fungi, with results far exceeding our expectations! All collected data will be shared on the SYLVA Data Portal soon! 🧫 🧬

On 20 September 2024, @SYLVAbioaerosol took a major step forward in our environmental DNA (eDNA) research by installing a high-volume air sampler at Šiauliai Academy. This device, Precision Air (Univerzal komerc d.o.o.), will help us collect tiny airborne particles with biological materials like bacteria, fungi and #pollen.

By studying these particles, we aim to deepen our understanding of biodiversity, track invasive species, and monitor environmental changes.
