I used #esphome for a quick and dirty implementation. Still rough around the edges, but already works very well.
The communication works via BLE UART. The hat accepts commands strings via BLE and provides an info string that can be queried.
In addition the right button activates the Tidal LED as flashlight.
If you make any improvements, especially regarding energy saving, please share again 🙂
