π¨π¦Just woke up from a dream. I have to write it down or I won't be able to fall asleep because I'll be trying to remember it. Whether I can after I finish writing it down or not is another story.
I was watching Firefly, but things were different than the real show, not that I knew that in the dream.
First thing that I can still remember clearly was that Kaylee was apparently trans. "I had the operation three months ago." she told... somebody.
Wash was not their first pilot, and Zoe was not their first first officer. The scene in the dream was the first first officer, a guy with a big mustache (bigger than Wash's) and an Australian accent, was interviewing first pilot guy for the position. Pilot was a hard-nosed, ex-military guy. He was standing "at-ease" just inside the doorway to the room while the FFO was sitting casually on the edge of a console behind the bridge. It looked as though he had been trying to fix something before the guy came in.
FFO: "Speed, stealth, agility, sausages installed. You got it all." (talking about the guy's piloting skills)
Pilot doesn't respond, clearly doesn't appreciate FFO's sense of humor.
FFO: "Come on." Gets up and walks towards the back of the ship, apparently to give the guy a tour.
Pilot: "What's the pay?"
FFO: "Knowledge!"
(something else is said, I forget)
Pilot: "Oh, you were being serious just now?"
(Apparently the offer was for some kind of unique skills training, I don't know what. I'm guessing they were too poor to pay with money at first.)
After they left, I took the opportunity to start looking around because, in true dream fashion, perspective had changed and I was in the story now. No character that I was aware of.
Then I woke up.
Reading this over now, it sounds like a "re-imagining". Now to see if I'm too awake to go back to sleep. :p
