In-laws arrive in a couple hours.

Neither of us likes them very much, but #Dragonlet is their only grandchild, and he adores his Nana, and she plays with with more energy than anyone else in the family can manage.

And they respected my request for when, if they are going to make a holiday visit, it would suit my health needs best.

But then yesterday we find out they are staying a day longer than they'd previously said. Told, not asked.

The issue is not the extra day...

First year #Dragonlet was able to *actually* able to help decorate the tree.

I was the first one awake this morning, which is fairly standard in general, and especially on weekends and holidays.

I had a sneezing fit while I was alone out in the living room.

After about the fourth loud sneeze, I hear a high-pitched voice from another room shouting, "Bless you!"

Testing the #ParentingWhileDisabled hashtag after seeing @Alyshelchi post about the issue.

#Dragonlet is nearly 6. So far we haven't said much more than "Daddy gets tired faster than other daddies," but "Daddy isn't feeling well enough for that right now" is feeling more and more hollow. And he's noticed it's always his mom when he's meeting up with his friends.

It feels like it's getting to be about time to talk to him about disability in broader, age-appropriate terms. But I'm wrestling with it.

Complicating factor in my psyche: My father was a stay-at-home dad for me after going on disability with #Fibromyalgia (before it was named) when I was 3.

#Dragonlet (5) routinely does this sort of thing:

He just charged over to me, stuck his face in front of mine with a big grin, and said, "ILoveYouVeryMuch", then went off again.

#Dragonlet (5): "I am a girl right now."

Me: "Ok."

It's still September and we've already started the second "pester your friends and family" fundraiser for #Dragonlet's school.

They have to do this because per-pupil spending in NC by all sources on primary and secondary school is $9,377, 43rd out of 50 states, 75% of the national average.

This is part of why NC is consistently ranked worst or near-worst state to teach in, even if salaries are no longer scraping bottom.

At least we're not in Utah.

Jalan transports #Dragonlet back and forth to his school on the way to and from hers.

My job each morning is just to make sure she's awake, wake him up, feed him, and make sure at least his shirt is fresh.

Wasn't up to it today. Got the first three done. Jalan brought out clothes and asked me to help him dress.

I just looked up and said, "I'm sorry, I can't do anything."

Yay #PEM. #MECFS @mecfs

Jalan is explaining to #Dragonlet that she was, in fact, there when he was born.

And that despite his insistence, he did not know her when *she* was a baby.

#Dragonlet apparently mooned one of his Kindergarten classmates today...
