I have finished reading Dragonbone Chair.

It was good, but I forgot just how much it was less of an ending and more of a “this story is too big for one book so we’ll take a breather here”.

Finished The Dragonbone Chair, by Tad Williams (Memory, Sorrow, & Thorn Bk 1). Definitely some epic scope to this fantasy, & lengthy. I did it as an audiobook, & had to repeat some chapters - too much to retain & comprehend. But an enjoyable story! #Fantasy #SFF #DragonboneChair
So the next #fantasy series I have decided to tackle is “Memory, Sorrow, Thorn” by Tad Williams.
Thus far it’s nice and comofortable, you know? (I did listen to the first audio about a year ago but have been wanting to give it a proper read)
It reads like an even more epic variation on T.H. White’s “The Once and Future King” and I’m here for it!

Unexpected #philosophy in #Fantasy books:

"There weren't many things in life one truly _needed_. To want too much was worse than greed: it was stupidity - a waste of precious time and effort.

Unexpected #philosophy in #Fantasy books:

"Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You'll find what you need to furnish it - memory, friends you can trust, love of learning, and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey. You will never lack for a home -unless you lose your head, of course..."
