And so it begins - I just made my first (private) repo on the CNRS gitlab. Find me there for now, will open a Codeberg account soon.

Question to others trying to #DitchGitHub - how do you manage code, all with a personal account or hosted by your Institution ?

I am thinking to host all my code on my own Codeberg account, and mirror repos in the CNRS GitLab. Interested in others' workflow (I prefer to host all code I publish in my own account, but open to suggestions)

The #DitchGithub conversation is moving fast. Here's my current summary of the implications of https://github.com/noffle/git-ssb-intro or probably any decentralized collaborative git repositories:

When using git-ssb anyone, not just the owner, can make a commit to a repository. That's radically different from the other git interfaces.

If you're slingin code and need a host, #ditchGitHub and use #gnu #savannah

If you need a discussion platform, #SlackIsWhack, you should be using #riot for #matrix
