Even if the prey isn't alive in the guts to experience it, the *viewer* is imagining that journey >:3
I'll often use this when I have preds being really cutesy with their prey, even when the prey is really horrified or fully dead. "Daww, did you have a little tummy trip? Are you just hip padding now? Gosh, can you hear your body churning?"
It's part degrading the prey, part teasing the viewer.
There's a lot of different takes on it, and I sometimes like leaving it ambiguous. I'm also a really big fan of blushing skulls where it's like, "no the character is dead dead, but the *author/pred* is imposing this teasing onto them."
Their experience is getting reduced down to a blush.
