@JonathanSimeone That's why I posted and pointed out the experience I had with the #DiscoverCard which features all card info in #Braille on the front face of the card. I wish all could behold such just once. the magic of such will never be ordinary to me. It's why I also asked why other card issuers beyond the financial space such as health insurers and the government itself can't do such as well. #BrailleMatters
In today's #TechIsShitDispatch (it's been a while since I've posted one, believe me I've been encountering tech shit every day, just haven't had time to post)…
#DiscoverCard has apparently decided, via its proxy #Akamai, to block logins from Linux. [UPDATE: Nope it's even worse! See below.]
I don't know whether they're doing this on purpose (very bad) or through incompetence (slightly less bad).
I wasted a couple hours of my time figuring out this is what's going on.
Evidence in the replies.

Discover Card seems to be having an issue with their website.

I tried Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, along with Vivaldi and Floorp. But I received the same error.

Ironically, Microsoft Edge worked, which seems so odd considering I am using Linux.

Well that's a bummer my new #Discovercard arrived completely flat with no #Braille on it. When I got a recent email urging me to choose my design, I mistakenly thought if I did nothing it'd stay the same; and so their representative agreed. In future however, I'll be more proactive and call to ensure that my #Braille card will arrive as it ought. In any event all's well that ends well the representative assured me she'd request my #Braille card and expedite its shipping so it should be here perhaps by tomorrow. On a related note this trend of complete flat cards in all sectors of life i.e., financial and healthcare and others still makes me wonder why none of the orgs have put forth a resolution praising those entities that offer such and urging others to join them since they've so ably demonstrated that such can be done well.
As of May 18 the acquisition of #Discover by #CapitalOne is officially complete.
Cap1 claims this will be a big win for consumers. Feel free to point me to a single example in history where consolidation in a huge market with only a few major players was beneficial for consumers.
Cap1 wanted Discover's merchant network, and now that they have it, they'll leverage it to extract more profit from merchants and consumers.

@robini71 @DavidGoldfield I was just now years old when I learned that anybody put Braille on their credit cards. Almost makes me want to apply for a #DiscoverCard just to get one, but I already have far too much plastic (some of them are titanium now) in my wallet.

@henry Not sure why the merger was bad, exactly. I boycotted both #Bayer and #Mansanto already anyway, so organizing two evil corps together keeps the boycott easy.

The merger I hate is that of #CapitalOne and #Discovercard, because that’s an evil joining a lesser of evils which fucks up my options.

Once while living in WA state, I got one of those pre approved offers from Discover card. I sent the application back with no legible information other than maybe an annual household income of $93. Much to my surprise, I got a card mailed to me a few weeks later.

I can’t imagine that this #DiscoverCard ad is making many feminists very happy.

Warning to #Discovercard customers: They’ve just started collecting #voicePrints & apparently there is no opt-out. If you call them the bot will simply announce that they are recording you for ID purposes and then it expects you speak.
