Well that's a bummer my new #Discovercard arrived completely flat with no #Braille on it. When I got a recent email urging me to choose my design, I mistakenly thought if I did nothing it'd stay the same; and so their representative agreed. In future however, I'll be more proactive and call to ensure that my #Braille card will arrive as it ought. In any event all's well that ends well the representative assured me she'd request my #Braille card and expedite its shipping so it should be here perhaps by tomorrow. On a related note this trend of complete flat cards in all sectors of life i.e., financial and healthcare and others still makes me wonder why none of the orgs have put forth a resolution praising those entities that offer such and urging others to join them since they've so ably demonstrated that such can be done well.
@robini71 But I agree, US bank gave me a braile card, but the braille is too close together, that's my one knock against it.
@vol4life8657 @robini71 Like a plastic card with braille on it? that would be so cool.
@mcourcel @robini71 Yes debit card with braille on it.
@vol4life8657 @mcourcel @robini71 flat cards for everything suck. I mean several years back starbucks had braille cards it may only say starbucks on it but I still have it. least I know what that is. but other cards are all flat and sad and I just need to remember which is where in my wallet
@lunar_fang @vol4life8657 @robini71 I fight the machine and put braille characters on all of my cards with a manual brailler.
@lunar_fang @vol4life8657 @mcourcel @robini71 You could have small card cases with labels on them which can fit in the wallet. It's what I did before putting the flat cards on the phone became possible. Now, every card which has readable raised numbers is on its own and everything that's flat is in apple pay/an app. As usual, the choice is between accessibility and privacy, sadly.
@robini71 You like flat cards? I really should call Discover and ask them to send me a new card in braille.
@nycki96 @robini71 Wells Fargo also offers Braille cards. The size of the Braille cells, meaning the spacing between dots, is a bit smaller than standard Braille and I found it somewhat difficult to read.
@DavidGoldfield Discover's seems to be more normal sized. It's amazing how much info they fit on there. I don't deal with the other institution so haven't experienced theirs.
