Today, we recognize the importance of Braille in empowering blind and visually impaired people worldwide. Braille is more than just a system of raised dotsโ€”itโ€™s a gateway to education, independence, and equal rights.

In times like the COVID-19 pandemic, accessible information in Braille and audio formats is vital to ensure no one is left behind. Letโ€™s raise awareness about the need for inclusive communication tools and digital accessibility for all.

Every person deserves the right to read, learn, express themselves, and participate fully in society.

@JonathanSimeone That's why I posted and pointed out the experience I had with the #DiscoverCard which features all card info in #Braille on the front face of the card. I wish all could behold such just once. the magic of such will never be ordinary to me. It's why I also asked why other card issuers beyond the financial space such as health insurers and the government itself can't do such as well. #BrailleMatters
And for the record, lest I be accused Iโ€™m not trying to harsh anyoneโ€™s squee as the young one s say. Rather, I really and truly am asking what I think is a pertinent question. If one company can demonstrate that it is possible to create a means by which all card information can appear on the small piece of real estate that is the face of a card and do it well, why canโ€™t other companies follow suit? And this doesnโ€™t just apply to financial cards? Though of course we all deal with many of them. But what about other cards like health insurance cards or cards from the government such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Snap Wic and other assorted benefit related cards? It sure would make dealing with many daily tasks and maintaining security of oneโ€™s personal information a lot easier. #BrailleMatters
@ablade Still, they have a ways to go as Discover Financial Services presents all card information on the front face of the card itself. If they can do it why can't Chase? I've been politely advocating to them for years about this. I know that they have relationships with at least one of the larger organizations so I'm mystified as to why more don't advocate for this and also why this implementation can't happen. I rejoice for that which they have stil I long for more because I've beheld that which is possible and it's wonderful. #BrailleMatters
Did you know? In countries like the UK and Canada, medication packaging is required to include Braille, helping blind and visually impaired individuals access vital info safely and independently. Accessibility saves lives!
