இந்தியன் -2 படப்பிடிப்பு தளத்தில் ஏற்பட்ட விபத்தில் உயிரிழந்தோர் குடும்பத்தினருக்கு, தமது சார்பில் ஒரு கோடி ரூபாய் இழப்பீடு வழங்கப்படும் என இயக்குநர் ஷங்கர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். இது குறித்து அவர் வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கையில், “இந்தியன் 2 படப்பிடிப்பில் நடந்த விபத்து தந்த அதிர்ச்சியிலிருந்தும், வேதனையிலிருந்தும், மன உளைச்சலிலிருந்தும், இன்னும் மீளவில்லை. மீள முயன்று கொண்டிருக்கிறேன். ஒரு மாதம் முன்புதான் என்னிடம் உதவி இயக்குநராக சேர்ந்த கிருஷ்ணாவின் மறைவு என்னை உலுக்கிவிட்டது. நல்ல உதவி இயக்குநர் அமைவது மிகவும் கடினம். இவ்வளவு பெரிய பிராஜெக்ட்டை சேர்ந்த சில நாட்களிலேயே புரிந்து கொண்டு, களமிறங்கி மிகச் சிறப்பாக பணியாற்றினார் கிருஷ்ணா. ஒரு சரியான உதவி இயக்குநர் அமைந்துவிட்டார் என்ற என் சந்தோஷம் நீடிக்காதது என் துரதிர்ஷ்டம். அன்று கிருஷ்ணாவின் இல்லத்திற்கு சென்றிருந்தபோது அவரின் தாயார் என்னிடம் கதறி அழுதது என் கண்ணுக்குள்ளேயே நின்று என்னை இம்சிக்கிறது. எனக்கு ஷூட்டிங் ஸ்பாட்டில் தேவைப்படும் போதெல்லாம் டீ, காபி, தண்ணீர், பிஸ்கெட் என்று எது கேட்டாலும் என் அருகிலேயே நின்று உடனுக்குடன் கொடுத்து உதவிய புரொடக்‌ஷன் பாய் மதுவை அன்று பிணவறையில் பார்த்ததும் உடைந்துவிட்டேன். ஆர்ட் டிபார்ட்மெண்ட் சந்திரன், இந்தியன்-2 செட்டில் ஒரு மாதம் வேலை இருக்கிறது என்று விரும்பி வந்து, இந்த schedule-ல் தான் வேலைக்கு சேர்ந்தார் என்று கேள்விப்பட்டபோது துக்கம் தாளவில்லை. எவ்வளவோ பாதுகாப்பும், முன்னேற்பாடுகளும் செய்திருந்தும் சற்றும் எதிர்பாராமல் நடந்த அந்த விபத்தை சிறிதும் ஜீரணிக்க முடியாமல் தவிக்கிறேன்.மயிரிழையில் நான் உயிர் பிழைத்தேன் என்ற உணர்வை விட, அவர்கள் உயிர் இழந்து விட்டார்களே என்ற வேதனைதான் என்னை வாட்டி எடுக்கிறது. விபத்தில் உயிரிழந்தவர்களின் குடும்பத்தினர், காயமடைந்தவர்கள், அவர்களின் குடும்பத்தினர், அங்கு பணிபுரிந்தவர்கள் என்று அந்த விபத்து சம்பந்தப்பட்ட அனைவரும் படும் துயரங்களையும், கஷ்டங்களையும் பார்க்கும்போது, அந்த கிரேன் என் மேல் விழுந்திருக்கக் கூடாதா என்று தோன்றுகிறது. கிருஷ்ணாவின் பெற்றோருக்கும், அவரின் மனைவிக்கும் மற்றும் அவரின் குடும்பத்தினருக்கும், மதுவின் குடும்பத்தினருக்கும், திரு சந்திரனின் குடும்பத்தினருக்கும் என் ஆழ்ந்த அனுதாபங்களை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். அவர்களின் குடும்பத்தினருக்கு என்ன உதவி செய்தாலும் இழந்த உயிருக்கு ஈடாகாது. இருப்பினும் அவர்களின் குடும்பத்துக்கு ஏதோ ஒரு வகையில் சிறு உதவியாக இருக்கும் என்று எண்ணி ஒரு கோடி ரூபாயை பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களின் குடும்பங்களுக்கு அளிக்கிறேன் என்பதை தாழ்மையுடன் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். அவர்கள் இந்த துயரத்திலிருந்து விரைவில் மீள வேண்டுமென்று மனப்பூர்வமாக பிரார்த்திக்கிறேன்” எனத் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். இதனிடையே, விபத்து தொடர்பாக மத்திய குற்றப்பிரிவு காவல்துறையினர் 3 மணி நேரத்திற்கும் மேலாக அவரிடம் விசாரணை நடத்தினர். இந்தநிலையில் விபத்து தொடர்பான வழக்கில் முன் ஜாமீன் கோரி லைகா நிறுவனத்தின் தயாரிப்பு மேலாளர் சுந்தர்ராஜன் சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் மனுத்தாக்கல் செய்துள்ளார். ‌
