I’ve been using this app for … well, it didn’t have an X attached to its name back then. It’s the most essential MacOS app I’ve ever used, and probably the most reliable, too. If you’re using macOS and don’t have #DefaultFolder installed, I’m hereby questioning your sanity. https://mstdn.social/@stclairsoft/115200565158396456

Attached: 1 image Default Folder X 6.2 is ready for macOS 26 Tahoe! It also improves its buttons in the Finder toolbar, fixes issues with Adobe apps, delivers bug fixes and more. Navigate to your folders and files faster in Tahoe (or older macOS systems)! https://www.stclairsoft.com/DefaultFolderX/release.html

#pCloud not yet ready for Tahoe/macos 26. While sync seems to work, pCloud Drive does not (it simply refuses to start, "version is too old for this macos version"). #DefaultFolder has a beta ready for Tahoe, but has problems with #Illustrator (for me), but that’s not Tahoe-related (it’s broken in macOS 15 as well). Haven’t found any other incompatibilities yet.

#Butler is probably NOT the oldest indie app that I use, I think #DefaultFolder is older, and I use quite a few more, but I’ve also used Butler from around the same time on as you did, nice to see another early user!

Anyway, it is indispensable, and always the very first app I install on ever new Mac 😄

Hm, anyone using #DefaultFolder seeing some weird focus issue in safe dialogues, too? See video, I safe an #Illustrator file as eps. I enter a file name, choose the format, then try to enter a specific artboard. But focus for text input somehow still is on the filename form field.

Workaround: If I explicitly tab out of the filename formfield, then everything works as intended. But if I don’t, text focus will stick with this field. Bug in #Illustrator, #Sonoma or #DefaultFolder? @stclairsoft
