Il Tempo: Trump e il trucco di magia: "Segnale per gli spari". Il video scatena i complottisti

La cena con l'associazione dei corrispondenti alla Casa Bianca si è trasformata in una notte di paura, quando spari si sono uditi a pochi metri dalla sala. Il presidente Donald Trump è rimasto illeso, e altri alti funzionari della Casa Bianca sono stati evacuati. Le autorità hanno dichiarato che l'incidente è avvenuto all'esterno della sala da ballo dove erano seduti Trump e gli altri ospiti. L'evento è stato annullato e verrà riprogrammato. L'uomo armato, identificato come Cole Tomas Allen, 31 anni, residente a Torrance, un sobborgo di Los Angeles, laureato in ingegneria, sviluppatore di videogiochi e insegnante part-time sotto la custodia dell'Fbi, la procuratrice federale Jeanine Pirro ha dichiarato che il sospettato è stato preliminarmente incriminato con due capi d'accusa relativi all'uso di un'arma da fuoco e all'aggressione di un agente con un'arma pericolosa, ma che saranno presentate molte altre accuse "sulla base delle informazioni che stiamo raccogliendo in questa situazione molto mutevole". 

Il presidente sfugge a un altro attentato, dunque. E in queste ore sui social vengono passati al setaccio i video della serata, che mostrano il tavolo di Trump con la moglie Melania e la messa in sicurezza del vicepresidente JD Vance. Un filmato in particolare ha scatenato una nuova teoria del complotto, come spesso accade in queste situazioni, basti pensare a dopo l'attentato di Butler.  Su X è virale un video che mostra il famoso mentalista Oz Pearlman al tavolo di Trump che esegue dei giochi di prestigio durante l'evento. La "teoria" che circola su X cerca di collegare questi momenti alla sparatoria, suggerendo due narrazioni principali (entrambe prive di prove). Alcuni sostengono che il trucco servisse a distrarre l'attenzione del presidente e di sua moglie o della sicurezza per facilitare l'attacco. Altri ipotizzano che determinati gesti del prestigiatore fossero un segnale in codice per dare il via all'azione all'esterno. Ad alimentare certe ipotesi, prive di riscontri, potrebbe essere anche la scelta dell'intrattenitore della serata, che era caduta non su un comico di grido ma sul famoso mentalista Oz Pearlman.

Trump and the magic trick: "Signal for the gunshots." The video sparks conspiracy theorists.

The dinner with the White House Correspondents’ Association turned into a night of terror when gunshots were heard just meters from the hall. President Donald Trump remained unharmed, and other high-ranking White House officials were evacuated. Authorities stated that the incident occurred outside the ballroom where Trump and the other guests were seated. The event was canceled and will be rescheduled. The armed man, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, 31, a resident of Torrance, a suburb of Los Angeles, an engineering graduate, video game developer, and part-time teacher under the custody of the FBI, federal prosecutor Jeanine Pirro stated that the suspect was preliminarily charged with two counts related to the use of a firearm and the assault of an agent with a dangerous weapon, but that many more charges would be presented “based on the information we are gathering in this very fluid situation.”

The president narrowly avoids another attack, therefore. And in the hours that followed, videos from the evening are being scrutinized on social media, showing Trump’s table with his wife Melania and the security of Vice President JD Vance. In particular, a video has sparked a new conspiracy theory, as often happens in these situations, think after the Butler incident. On X, a viral video shows the famous mentalist Oz Pearlman performing tricks at Trump’s table during the event. The “theory” circulating on X attempts to link these moments to the shooting, suggesting two main narratives (both lacking proof). Some claim the trick was intended to distract the president and his wife or security to facilitate the attack. Others hypothesize that certain gestures by the magician were a code signal to initiate the action outside. Fueling certain hypotheses, lacking evidence, could be the choice of the evening’s entertainer, who was not a popular comedian but the famous mentalist Oz Pearlman.
