If anyone is still running #debian12 on a machine with software RAID, be advised about a problem with upgrading to #debian13 – yesterday it made my home server unbootable and I found the reason to be grub not detecting my RAID1 metadevice. A workaround is described here: https://gist.github.com/yorickdowne/3cecc7b424ce241b173510e36754af47 (thanks, Yorick!); fixing my server involved booting from USB and doing apt install --reinstall mdadm while chrooted to my original root FS.
I was playing Frozen Bubble last night on Linux, and it's so fun. This is my temporary avatar since I thought it was cute.
I love Tux, I want to draw and paint them eventually!💗
Today I learned: The OpenAI systems that power ChatGPT are running Debian 12 bookworm. From https://incoherency.co.uk/blog/stories/chatgpt-linux.html
I am running Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm) on my main computer.
So, my rig just wanted to install a new package named "libharfbuzz-subset0" in today's updates.
Now, on my end, rarely is a completely new package introduced, so this had me wondering.
Does anyone else have any info or opinions to share about this?
