Dear Diary,
This morning I discovered that deer do, in fact, eat gladioli. The fact that my blooms have gone unmolested for the past 3 seasons did not save them from being eaten this year.

@ccellis oooooh thank you! I "fixed" the broken fence by hammering a roof shingle to the rotten/rotting wood, it'll have to do until Tom gets some real wood, but yes thanks I'd love to have some deer-resistant plant-me-downs!!
(it took 3 days for me to cover the opening. day 1 they ate the roses; day 2 they ate the young apple trees 😭 ; day 3 the M***F***s ATE the LEAVES off of all my HOLLYHOCKS)
