OK, I've been over every cupboard with a flashlight & opened every bag & jar of grains, flour etc. & I seriously cannot find anything remotely resembling a breeding ground for those fucking pantry moths 🤔

I mean, it also doesn't feel quite like an infestation - I've only seen like three of them, tops, at any given time, usually it's just a single one - so... maybe they're coming in from somewhere else...?

Can they do that?

🔥 Oh sure, #Alberta "eradicated" #rats by using a top-secret #strategy of boring them to death with endless podcasts and newsletters featuring a guy named #Viktor. 🙄 Spoiler alert: the real pest problem is the people subscribing to this snooze-fest. 📚💤

#Cornell entomologist Brian Lovett explains that #ticks are impervious tanks and that flushing them means throwing away valuable #data that could help scientists track tick-borne #diseases. Better options include crushing them, submerging in rubbing #alcohol, or trapping them in a container and sending them to a lab for testing.

Don’t flush ticks down the toilet

Water does not kill them—and they could come back.

What are these black bumps on my fig's leaves?
Looks lime some kind of a beetle but they stay put in the same spot so maybe not?

Is there a way to get rid of them without poisoning the fruits?

I'm in zone 10a.
Boosts appreciated. 🙏

I wish I had a handyperson pal I could call when weird things come up with the house.

Today's weird but unfortunately annual thing is the June gnat invasion. I keep the windows closed once the temps get over 80f, and when there's gnats invading. I don't leave food out at all. Yet it's like the gnat version of the fly scene in Amityville Horror. I put numerous sticky traps on the windows and they work, but the gnats keep coming.
