In an unexpected twist of cosmic irony, #Darklang decides to "empower developers" by going open source just in time for its own funeral 🎉⚰️. After years of contemplating the mysteries of sustainability, they finally concluded that the magic answer was actually to just copy-paste what every other project did in 2005 🙃📜.

Darklang Goes Open Source

As part of shutting down Dark, Inc. and forming Darklang, Inc., we've finally open-sourced all of our repositories. Our source code is now under the Apache License 2.0. 🆕 New Blog Post:

What happened to #DarkLang?

"What are the Dark folks themselves saying about how it’s going? Well, things get weirder. The last post on the official DarkLang blog is almost a year ago and it’s a bizarre post about how DarkLang is going “All In” on AI and Chat GPT. "

What Happened To DarkLang? – SyntaxSeed Blog

Dark programming language going all-in on AI, with the realisation that a lot of code in all languages is soon going to be machine-generated. We’ll be rewritten in AI for AI.

“Do we expect that in 3-5 years time developers will still be typing out artisanal code at a keyboard? I struggle to see it.”

Darklang is going all-in on AI

Like an aging rock star making a final stab at glory, I'm delighted to announce that Darklang is going all in on AI/GPT. As everyone knows, the folks over at OpenAI produced a magic box that writes code. And it even produces quite good code – not perfect, not by

GitHub App authentication in darklang

My friend introduced me to a project named darklang, or simply Dark. It's a serverless and deployless backend builder. A unique approach that sets it apart (at least for me) is stated on its Introduction page: “Darklang is an integrated language, framework, and editor for building web backends: REST API endpoints, asynchronous backgrou...

#DarkLang has arrived in the fediverse

@expede and I were influenced by the concepts and direction that DarkLang was heading when it first launched, but we had a stronger focus on front end & evolving existing tools and languages.

I’m glad it’s still going, we need more experiments in making software easier to build & run

#introduction #introductions Hey folks, I hope #corporate accounts are welcome here. Dark is a #ProgrammingLanguage, editor, and #PaaS, developed in public on #GitHub. It started in 2017 and has had a tumultuous time, but is still being actively worked on by a small team led by @paulbiggar. Dark's goal is to make it 100x easier to build #backend #services. It's a #functional programming language, with some novel ideas, such as #TraceDrivenDevelopment and #deployless.

@jk yeah, you want something like #darklang’s error-proof editor and Cord’s multiplayer layer, but with the ability to do fighting game combos to force a deploy!
Dark's new backend will be in F#

Welcome HN! Dark is a programming language, structured editor, and infrastructure—all in one—whose goal is to make it 100x easier to build backend services. Check out the website, our What is Dark post, and How Dark deploys in 50ms for more. Thanks for checking us out! Part of
