I chatted with my coworker last week and she confirmed that the owls and owlets are still around and are doing fine but haven’t been easy to photograph because they’ve left the nest.
So rest easy, the owl family is doing well, but there probably won’t be any more updates.
If anything more gets posted, I’ll be sure to share! ☺️
So there hasn’t been a #DailyOwlUpdate for about a week now, assuming that means either the owlets have left the nest or my coworker has been out on vacation 😂

#DailyOwlUpdate - A couple of close-ups I got through the backdoor when she was on my grill.
And another photo from just now - she made it to the bigger tree adjacent to the one that she climbed yesterday - and now she's WAY up high next to mama.
I definitely underestimated her skills.

I just posted the above and then the male owl hooted from the tree that overlooks my patio - about 20 feet straight above my head.
I’m sitting out here thinking that it’s safe now that baby made it to a tree. Scared the 💩 out of me.
Took this video right after the first hoot thinking he might do it again - and he did. And now he just flew to the baby. What a great day. ♥️
#DailyOwlUpdate - She climbed the fence, tightroped it to a tree, did a little hop onto a branch and scaled the trunk to the middle.
She’s safe and sound in a tree that her parents sit in frequently. And I got to see the whole thing unfold in the last 30 minutes.
Amazing. Whew.

The running joke has been how much the tables have turned - first my coworker was watching the owlets and now they are watching her!

He’s getting better at flying and is certainly adventurous but there’s still a level of awkwardness that’s just adorable. 🥰
