Day 15 (I guess) learning #chess on #duolingo

I just don't have the necesary brains for chess.

Doing good on #backgammon tho, almost won for the second time. We are going 3x1 with boyfriend. But I was "winning" for most part of the game. We are learning it together

Today is my last day with #Duolingo, ending a 2,005-day streak, but since I used five streak freezes, 2,000 actual days.

The changes I've seen are mostly for the worse. At first, the leaderboard system motivated me to learn, but that gave way to the grind so I switched it off.

I've seen hints of AI replacing the human touch, but it's hard to call them out.

The app has become over-adorned with animated effects. When I started in 2000, the app was charming; now it's trying much too hard.
