Well, I'll definitely order one or two rolls of black and white film every now and then, but I won't be able to afford something like daily shots anymore.
Yes, this wonderful slowness! I try to keep these when taking digital photographs. So I only use older cameras for this. My Minolta #DImage7 bridge camera, a Sony A300/350 or even Canon's 'Dinosaur' 300d every now and then.
On the one hand, these cameras are 'wonderfully slow' (the DImage7 takes between 30 and 40 seconds to save a 5MP RAW image), and on the other hand, I switched off image playback in all of them after taking photos.
This brings back much of the usual and beloved slowness. And the #CanonEos300d is very similar to the #Eos300v Analog SLR in many ways.
I then "develop" with #RawTherapee or the built-in importer from #digiKam. And I only make the corrections that I would have made with analog film.
So I'm already close to the old analogue feeling.

@colorblindcowboy I fell bad about that a kind of religious war is so often made out of it here. Joy is much more important to me. I prefer to take analogue photos, but depending on how my health and free time allow it, I also like to use the digital camera.
But yes, I also handle digital photography as analogously as possible:
I like to pick up ancient cameras, my >20y old #Dimage7 takes a whopping 30 seconds to store a 5MP image, and I turn off the display and image control on both this and my #SonyA300 (and an ancient Canon #Eos300d ).
This is a good middle for me to shoot in a decelerated and fun way.

As announced yesterday while chatting with @dirt , I picked out a picture of my ancient #Minolta #Dimage7. This picture was taken a few months ago when I repaired this camera as a successor to the Z3, which had recently died.
With the new(😁) firmware from 2004 or 2005, it now even 'eats' SD cards in via CF adapter. And the operating time is long enough with Li-ion batteries (real 1.5 volts!), so I don't have to replace the batteries anymore after taking just 5-10 pictures.
It's really fun to shoot with!

@textovervideo Oh, I should recharge the batteries of my #DImage7i camera. Its not so different to the Dimage5, so I think I'll go to shoot a few #raw shots on the wekend for a try in Darktable. 🤩
@atarifrosch Wer Dir die Kamera "erlaubt" hat, ist ja eigentlich egal. Aber es ist umso schöner zu sehen, was im Netz alles geht. Solche "Geschichten" sind immer wieder schön. Supi!
Also, meine 300d läuft noch, und die Uralt-RAWs krieg ich unter Linux mit so ziemlich allem von ganz einfachen Bordmitteln & #digiKam bis hin zu Rawtherapee & Co. gut verarbeitet. Auf die Zahl der Auslösungen guck ich bewusst nicht, da lass ich mich überraschen. Bei dem biblischen Alter (ich meine hier jetzt mal nicht nur meines sondern das der Kamera) darf das ja auch so sein. Noch dazu war sie, als ich sie gekauft hab, damals ein gebrauchtes Schnäpchen.
Meine "neue" Digitale ist eine Alpha 300. Hab Canon nicht weiter verfolgt, weil ich seit jeher Minolta AF Objektive durch meine analogen Kameras von damals hab.
Dazu hab ich noch zwei Minoltas #DImage7 Bridgekameras - habe jemandem nur einen Fernauslöser abkaufen wollen und der alte Mann hatte sich so gefreut, dass er mir seine beiden alten Kameras mit "vererbt" hatte. Hab ihm damals noch was hinterherüberwiesen.
Was schön ist: Ich kann meine alten CF Karten auf all den alten Kameras weiternutzen und dank Adapter gehts auch mit SDHC Karten gut. Bei den alten Minoltas natürlich nur bis 2GB, aber irgendwas ist ja immer. :smile:
Es muss nicht immer alles neu sein. Und mit kommt es zur #Entschleunigung sehr gelegen, dass nicht immer alles ganz so schnell geht bzw. gehen muss.

The image sensor, which is more than 20 years old, shows some clear #HotPixels @ longer exposure times, but I can tolerate that. I just have to take a few 'empty' black pictures to filter out and everything will be fine. :wink:

Die alte Dame aus 2002 ist endlich wieder vollständig einsatzbereit. Letzte Woche habe ich noch die Kontakte im Batteriefachdeckel ausgetauscht und ihr anstelle der Ni-mh #Akkus zwei Sätze wiederaufladbare #Lithiumbatterien gegönnt. Dank neuer (🙄😁) Firmware von 2004 und eines SD>CF Adapters speichert sie nun auch etwas schneller und kann, je nach SD-Karte mit bis zu 4GB Speicherkapazität umgehen. Das funktionierte seinerzeit ja nur mit Karten bis zu 1GB.
Ach, ja: bei ALI Express habe ich einen tatsächlich einen passenden ø49mm Polfilter (zirkulär) ergattern können. Der Preis dafür war mit $5.17 so unverschämt billig, dass ich mich fast dafür schämen möchte. Die Kamera darf nun gerne nochmal weitere 20 Jahre halten. Das Objektiv ist eine Wonne, und der Bildsensor mit seinen nur 5.2 Megapixeln liefert eine knackige Schärfe und oft schon fast pastellig wirkende Farben.
Dafür lasse ich gerne mal die analogen Filme im Kühlschrank und gehe bestimmt wieder häufiger mit dieser Oma auf Tour.

My good old lady, a #Minolta #Dimage7 from 2002, is finally fully operational again. Last week I replaced the contacts in the battery cover with new ones and treated it to two sets of #EBL rechargeable AA 1.5V #lithiumbatteries instead of the 1.2V Ni-mh ones.
Thanks to new firmware from 2004 and an SD>CF adapter, it now saves a little faster and, depending on the SD card, can even handle up to 4GB storage capacity. At the time, this only worked with cards up to 1GB.😜
Oh, btw: at #AliExpress I got a suitable ø49mm circular polarizing filter. The price for it was so outrageously cheap at $5.17 that I almost want to be ashamed of it.
The camera can now last another 20 years (😎). To me the lens is a delight, and the sensor with its only 5.2 megapixels delivers crisp sharpness and often wonderfully pastel-prone colors.
I like to leave the analogue films in the fridge and will definitely go on tour with this 'grandma' more often.
