#Cycle2Work #SalarySacrifice scheme in UK.
Has anyone looked at the Ts and Cs for this? Just wondering, really. I'm in two minds.

It's weird.

I don't own the bicycle, because the scheme does.
Salary is taken from gross, saving me income tax and NI.
At the end, I can buy it from them at current market price (whatever that is, according to whoever decides) +VAT, or "you can either enter our zero-cost extended hire arrangement", or return it to the shop.

Interestingly, if it's stolen and uninsured, I just pay until the agreed end of term, then nothing happens as far as I can see.

p.s.The scheme seems to be serviced by #Halfords, which may limit the value and/or quality a bit :-)

#cycle2work UK Has anyone decoded these terms? The basic idea is salary sacrifice (before deductions) to pay for a bike over 18 months.

Especially, I'm wondering what's "zero-cost extended hire" in this waffle:-

"And at the end of the hire period, you’ll be able to choose to enter a zero-cost extended hire arrangement, or you can purchase the Goods at the fair market value at that time (plus VAT)"

Can I keep it at zero cost until I leave my job, then buy it at reduced cost when older?
